You make your design as good as you expect it to be, then add a large noticeable flaw/distraction (say, a large pink bow) that will draw the attention of execs and directors.

That way they have something they can ask you to change (because they have to tell you to change something—they're paid to tell you things, right?) and you have an easy change to make.
