3rd rewatch of melancholia in quarantine, it hits me that lars von trier is using his own depression and exploiting it as an artistic limitation in the same way that the dogme manifesto is supposed to be. masterful stuff, along with antichrist and nymphomaniac
bacurau is simply a delight. best of the decade contender, might even crack my top 10 all time
also both of those have fantastic udo kier performances. he's so goddamn funny, one of the best character actors of all time
walk hard might be the funniest movie ever made, been watching that one a lot as well
John C Riley in Magnolia is the definitive portrayal of an American police officer
apparently the whole murder plot was supposed to be resolved, and he was supposed to be the one to catch the guy but that was cut from the movie. But I do love the accidental subtext that all the clues to this crime are right in front of Riley's character and he barely notices
