I don't think for a second that The Naked Gun is a subversive film (it's mostly just expertly-deployed weapons-grade idiocy) but it *is* a movie where police are inept, the U.S. anthem is mangled by a foreigner, the effigy of a sitting monarch is knifed, and our protag punches out the geopolitical baddies of the day with cartoon wrestling moves
